NCI Education Portal

Idea#14

Stage: Active

Campaign: Features (On Cancer.gov, I want to...)

In the interest of organizing NCI information and in making accessible all the existing NCI education programs and materials, create a cancer.gov education portal segmented by audiences (health professionals, researchers, public health practitioners, cancer control planners, advocates, etc.) Links could be made to NCI/NIH training events and funding opportunities to support NCI education and training priorities.

I like this idea but I think the segmentation can be tricky. If we don't segment it, a non-technical person can wind up in a forest of technical information that he can't wade through or a technical person can wind up with what, for her, is a superficial explanation.

But on the other hand, if we do segment it, a person can get on the wrong segment path for the information he needs and never find it.

I don't have a solution to the problem but I'm hoping some clever and creative people will work on it.
